Player Arbitration

Preface:  The Player Arbitration process is for players frozen to a qualified team that for whatever reason, will not release the player.

USSSA Rules no longer limits the quantity of roster releases for a qualified team.

When a team's Official Online Roster becomes frozen per USSSA Rules 3.09.A, 3.09.B, 3.09.C, players will be bound to this frozen team up to and including this team's respective State Championship and / or World Series.  Managers of a frozen team are under no obligation to release any player from the team's Official Online Roster.

A Custodial Parent / Guardian does have the option of filing for arbitration on behalf of their child with Georgia USSSA Baseball.  All arbitration requests must be in writing and must clearly list the details of the issue, all parties to the issue and complete contact information for all parties.  All arbitration requests must be notarized and mailed to the State Office.  Incomplete arbitration requests (missing contact information, etc.) will automatically be denied without the option of re-applying.

An arbitration meeting (usually a conference call) with all involved parties to try and settle the matter will be scheduled by Georgia USSSA Baseball.  If either party is not available for the scheduled meeting, a binding ruling will still be issued.

The arbitration process usually takes 7 - 10 days from the time of receipt of the arbitration request into the State Office.

Comment:
USSSA Rule 3.11 states, "Player(s) shall not be on any other team's frozen or unfrozen Official Online Roster within the same age division regardless of classification

Rule 3.11 Comment: A player may legally appear on multiple Official Online Rosters in the same age division regardless of classification(s) until such time one of the rosters the player appears on in the age division becomes frozen.  From the freeze date forward, the player may only appear on the frozen team's Official Online Roster in that age division unless released pursuant to these rules.

Comment: Please review USSSA Rules 7.01.H & 7.01.O.  Any player that competes with a second team wh
ile still on the original team’s frozen Official Online Roster will be suspended for one (1) year for competing as an illegal player.  In addition, the manager of the second team will also be suspended for one (1) year for knowingly competing with an illegal player.

ALL ARBITRATION RULINGS ARE BINDING
AND CAN NOT BE APPEALED!
