SIXTH ANNUAL
DIRECTOR'S CUP CHALLENGE SERIES
CHAMPIONSHIP
APRIL 30 - MAY 2, 2010

In 2005, the Inaugural year of the Director's Cup Challenge Series, 132 teams played in DCCS Qualifiers for one of 40 spots in the Championship event.  In 2006, Qualifier participation grew to 355 teams playing for one of 60 Championship event spots.  The 2007 and 2008 seasons saw the Qualifiers max out at 455 teams and 470 teams respectfully with teams trying to qualify for one of 60 Championship event spots each year.  For the 2008 season the program was restructured to a more manageable size with 290 teams competing for one of 40 Championship event spots.

In total, 1,702 teams have competed in DCCS Qualifiers and 260 teams have played in the Director's Cup Challenge Series Championship. 

And the one thing each of these 260 teams has had in common over the past five years...they played for FREE!  Plus, the Championship event is also an NIT which means double USSSA points and it's always played the first weekend in May, a Georgia USSSA Baseball Double Point Weekend.  Thus, the Director's Cup Challenge Series Championship is a USSSA QUAD POINT event and you get to play for FREE!!!!!!

The Director's Cup Challenge Series is offered for age divisions 6U - 13U and teams may enter as many qualifiers as they like to better their chances of championship participation.

Also, the previous year's Director's Cup Champions return to defend their titles...and they play for FREE again!!!

• HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS •

PROPERTY (HOTEL) LISTINGS

Stockbridge is located just 20 minutes south of Downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport.  Any hotel property in the Stockbridge area will put you within a short 10 - 15 minute drive of Hidden Valley Park.

• EVENT FORMAT •

USSSA will use a pool play and bracket play format.  Teams shall be seeded in pools by USSSA Point totals at the time of seeding and will play two pool games.  All teams will then advance to a single elimination Championship Bracket.  Teams are guaranteed three (3) games, weather and other Acts of God permitting.  The exact format (i.e.; number of pools, quantity of teams in each pool, etc.), will be set by the Tournament Director following USSSA Baseball Guidelines.

• GENERAL RULES •

1.

Only one bulk drink cooler and one small ice chest per team shall be allowed in any Super NIT venue.  All individual coolers are prohibited.

2.

A general gate admission of $7.00 per day for all persons 16 years of age and older will apply.  All persons 15 years of age and younger are admitted FREE.

3.

The general gate admission will apply to everyone except uniformed players and a maximum of 4 coaches per team with proper photo identification.

4.

Officially licensed USSSA Baseballs shall be provided for all games.

5.

All divisions and classifications shall play by the USSSA BASEBALL NATIONAL BY-LAWS & RULES AND STATE OF GEORGIA SUPPLEMENTAL RULES.

6.

Time limits shall be used in all games except Championship Games.

Comment: Not all teams will play Friday, April 30, 2010.  Game times will be assigned by travel distance.  Teams that do not play on Friday may play three (3) games on Saturday, May 1, 2010.

• ENTRY PROCEDURES •

ENTRY DEADLINE IS 72 HOURS AFTER WINNING A BERTH!!!

Teams may ONLY enter the Director's Cup Challenge Series Championship by FAXING a completed Commitment Form to the Georgia USSSA Baseball State Office.  The Tournament Director at the Director's Cup Challenge Series Qualifier in which you win the berth will supply your Commitment Form.  Fax signed and completed Commitment Forms to: 678-364-8923.  Upon receipt and approval, an email confirmation will be sent from the State Office to the Team Manager of Record with USSSA.

Comment: Teams must have all participating players listed on their Official USSSA Online Roster in the USSSA.com system prior to playing their first game.  No changes will be allowed to any team's roster after play has begun...no exceptions!  In addition, all participating players shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates in the possession of their team manager and available for inspection at all times.
