Congratulations on an outstanding season and welcome to the 2010 Global Sports "Baseball At The Beach" World Series on Alabama's Gulf Coast. Your World Series host will do everything possible to create an experience that the players, coaches, and families will remember for a life time!
The Global Sports Baseball World Series is open to all USSSA classification teams (Teams playing in the USSSA Elite 32 World Series are ineligible) and is limited to the first 24 teams per age division to qualify & enter online. |

• WORLD SERIES FORMAT • |
|
Global Sports Baseball uses a very unique pool play / bracket play format in its World Series. Teams are guaranteed six (6) games weather permitting with an average of seven (7) games played per team. The Global Sports Baseball World Series will have three (Red, White & Blue) championship brackets and each will crown a World Series Champion. |
|
POOL PLAY |
|

|
Teams will be seeded in pools where they will play four (4) pool games. Based on pool play results, the top two (2) teams from each pool advance to the Red Championship bracket. The middle two (2) teams from each pool advance to the White Championship bracket and the bottom two (2) teams from each pool advance to the Blue Championship bracket. |

• TEAM QUALIFICATIONS • |
|
Teams qualify to participate in the Global Sports Baseball World Series by earning a berth in a Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifier. Teams must be registered with USSSA Baseball and Global Sports Baseball to participate in a Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifiers. Team may register for USSSA Baseball & Global Sports Baseball at www.usssa.com . The annual Global Sports Baseball team registration fee is $15.00. Teams earning a Global Sports Baseball World Series berth must enter the Global Sports Baseball World Series online at www.usssa.com on a first come, first served, pending prior sell out basis. Qualified teams are not guaranteed participation at any specific site until the $625.00 Global Sports Baseball World Series entry fee is paid online with a credit / debit card. |

• WORLD SERIES RULES • |
|
| 1. |
Any player who before May 1, 2010 reaches their 11th birthday shall not be eligible to participate in the 10U division. Any player who before May 1, 2010 reaches their 13th birthday shall not be eligible to participate in the 12U division. Any player who before May 1, 2010 reaches their 15th birthday shall not be eligible to participate in the 14U division. |

Players may play up in an older age division but never down in a younger age division. |
| 3. |
All players must be fully uniformed which includes matching team caps, matching jerseys with non-duplicating numbers at least 3" in height, matching pants and matching socks. |
| 4. |
All coaching staff must wear matching team caps and be properly dressed. Athletic type shorts are allowed. |
| 5. |
Protests on uniforms will not be allowed. The Tournament Director is responsible for uniform legality. Violations will result in the violator being allowed to conform or be removed from the game. |
| 6. |
Only ONE BULK DRINK COOLER & ONE SMALL ICE CHEST PER TEAM shall be allowed in any World Series venue. All individual coolers are prohibited. |
| 7. |
For Global Sports Baseball World Series play ONLY, teams shall be allowed the addition of up to two (2) “write-in” players on their Official Roster. Write-in players shall not be entered in the USSSA online system but rather “hand written” on the printable version of the team’s Official Online Roster form. Write-in players are permitted to be frozen to any other classification team and be eligible. Players frozen to an USSSA Elite 32 World Series qualified team are ineligible. |

All rules not specifically covered herein shall be governed by the USSSA BASEBALL NATIONAL BYLAWS & RULES. |

IMPORTANT NOTE: All players participating in Global Sports Baseball World Series play shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates in the possession of their team manager AT ALL TIMES. Failure to have a photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate available upon demand will result in the offending team losing the game, being ejected from the World Series, being placed last in the standings and forfeiting all awards that would have been awarded at the World Series. | |

Team Credential Check-In will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Live Bait at The Wharf starting promptly at 1:00 PM. This is the only time teams may check-in and certify their rosters and birth certificates. Each team must have a copy of their Official USSSA Online Roster and a copy of each player's original birth certificate to check-in. Team Credential Check-In is for team Managers and one additional Coach per team only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Teams that for any reason do not have a representative present for Team Credential Check-In and do not certify their team credentials, will be prohibited from participation. |

• MANAGERS MEETING • |

The Manager's Meeting will follow Team Credential Check-In on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Live Bait at The Wharf. The official game schedules, brackets, coaches' passes and rules will be distributed and discussed at this meeting along with complete information regarding the Opening Ceremonies. In addition, a brief rules discussion with the Tournament Directors and Umpire-in-Chief will close the meeting. The Managers Meeting is for team Managers and one additional Coach per team only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Teams that for any reason do not have a representative present for the Manager's Meeting will not be issued game schedules, brackets, coaches' passes or rules and will be prohibited from participation. |

• OPENING CEREMONIES • |
|
WEDNESDAY - JULY 7, 2010 • 6:00 PM ORANGE BEACH SPORTSPLEX |
|
The Opening Ceremonies will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex starting promptly at 6:00 PM. All players must wear complete matching uniforms. This is a FREE event, open to the public and all family members, friends and supporters are encouraged to attend.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Pin Trading has become a huge tradition at the World Series. Players, coaches, and parents will have opportunities to trade pins throughout the week including during the Skills Competitions. Team pins are not mandatory but certainly adds to the fun of this special event. If you need assistance with trading pin design and ordering, contact METRO PINS on the web or call 1-405-769-5959.
We do encourage every team to bring some small item like pins to trade with the other players and teams. If you decide not to go the pin route, we suggest contacting your local chamber of commerce or visitor’s bureau about obtaining items to trade. |

• WORLD SERIES ADMISSION • |
|
General admission during the World Series for persons 15 years of age and older shall be $8.00 per day per person or $25.00 per person for a World Series Pass. Children 6 - 14 years of age will be $6.00 per day per child or $20.00 per child for a World Series Pass. Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted FREE. Admission applies to everyone except participating uniformed players and a maximum of four (4) coaches per team with proper identification.
